Tom Case had beautiful weather in Florida for this month’s ride. Thanks for giving us a taste of spring, Tom!

It’s hard to believe the second FSM of 2019 is already in the books, but I was thrilled to see so many riders participating as it is still winter in much of the world. We had a deep freeze here in Pennsylvania last week, and several inches of snow and ice fell. Even though it finally got into the 40’s on Sunday, it was not enough to melt the remaining white stuff from the trails for me to ride. But many of you did get out there, including a one who braved some very chilly weather to do so.

For those of you new to Me-Moving, FSM stands for the “First Saturday/Sunday of the Month” ride. The FSM is a global community event held on the first weekend of very month where we all ride together in spirit no matter where in the world we happen to be.

Denmark

Danny Kirkeby braved a windy -1c degree day in Slagelse to log a 8.51 km ride. This is Danny’s second month joining us for the FSM, and last month was cold for him as well. Here’s to hoping you have some warmer rides ahead!

Philippines

The rest of our riders had great weather for their rides starting with Enrico Victor in Makati, Philippines. He rode 18.35 km on a 26c degree afternoon as he works to get his endurance back after a month off from riding. His goal for February is to ride a combined 35 km per week, and I hope to see you reach your goal.

China

Dex Tsang in Hong Kong continues to be an FSM regular, riding his Me-Mover on a home trainer and tracking it with Swift. This ride was part of Dex’s preparation for an upcoming marathon in mid-February. Good luck on your run, Dex!

United States

Florida saw a trio of FSM regulars log rides. Roger Wildermuth and his dog paired up for a 1 mile around their neighborhood in Shalimar on Saturday, and another 1 mile ride on Sunday. BJ Viers enjoyed an 8.4 mile ride in Atlantic Beach near Jacksonville. Tom Case wowed us with his first 100k ride of the year on the Weston Cycling Route in Weston! Kudos to you Tom for beginning this journey at 4:30 am and thank you for the beautiful photo that accompanied it.

Last but not least was ride from another FSM regular, Claudio Pagan in Kimble Park, Ventura, California. This month he had weather challenges of his own, as he contended with rain, wind, and lots of deep puddles and debris. However, the “Me-Mover handled it all,” he said. Another testament to the versatility of this great riding machine!

Thank you again to all who rode and shared their adventures in February! Our next FSM will be here before you know it, so mark your calendars for March 2nd and 3rd. They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but I’ll be hoping for lamb-like weather for us northerners.
