Me-Moving into 2019
As we bid farewell to one year and begin another, I always like to take the time to check in with the Me-Mover community. It’s a great time to reflect on what has passed and an even better time to look forward to what’s ahead.
The Me-Mover continued to grow in popularity in 2018 with riders in many countries hitting the trails and joining our community. The Me-Mover Fit 2.2 came to market with a beautiful new color palette, and the much-awaited second-generation home trainer also went on sale.
To grow the community and encourage each other to ride, in October we began promoting rides on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. Known as the FSM, it was inspired by the Trikke community’s Last Saturday/Sunday of the Month rides (LSM). In our first three months, riders logged a combinedĀ 471.38 miles / 758.61 kilometers. Let’s continue to ride the FSM each month and strive for impressive totals throughout 2019!
On a personal level though, I was unable to do as much riding as I would have liked. Eastern Pennsylvania suffered one of its rainiest years on record, and when it wasn’t raining it seemed I was busy working at two jobs as part of my mission to change careers. I Me-Moved a total of 23.06 miles in 2018 which fell short of my 2017 total. It goes without saying that I hope to ride a LOT more in 2019! I intend to make a concerted effort to fit more riding time in, and I have to hope that the weather begins to cooperate.
2019 already has two major destination riding events planned, so mark your calendars and get ready to join in the fun:
Tom Case will be hosting the Comrades On Wheels Clermont Rides in central Florida from March 11th through the 13th. Each of the three days will feature several ride options for those of all different fitness and skill levels. Group meals are planned as well to make this a true coming together of the riding community.
Glenice Swenson just announced her second year of hosting the Minnesota Trail Rides on the beautiful Heartland State Trail and Paul Bunyan Trail in the Land of 10,000 Lakes region. This year’s rides will coincide with an LSM weekend from July 26th through the 28th, and additional details will be posted to the event page as they become available.
Last but not least, don’t forget to join the 2019 Endomondo Camaraderie Challenge. It’s not a contest, but rather a place to share your achievements while supporting others in achieving their goals.
I would like to wish all of my friends in the Trikke community a healthy, fun, and prosperous New Year, and I hope we will meet up on a trail together soon!
